Living in the Neighborhood

The neighborhood is a nice place to live. Here are some highlights.

Community

Live here, and you'll get to know your neighbors. You'll see them in their gardens, walking their dogs, playing with their children. You can read more on the values page.

There's one thing we all have in common. We're all ...

Part of Oakland University

All residents are Oakland University employees. Some of OU's longest serving employees live in the neighborhood. Many of us have dedicated our careers to OU. Together, we have centuries of service to the university.

When we get together, for barbecues, neighborhood meetings, or just to chat, much of the talk is about OU. People from around the university bring different perspectives to the conversation. Research work, curriculum changes, and other projects result from our shared efforts.

Setting

The neighborhood is quiet. There is only one entrance on Adams Road, and no direct connections to any other streets. We don't get a lot of traffic.

The homes are older and well-established. They are of modest size, from about 2,000 to 2,500 square feet, with three or four bedrooms. There are no stores. Only homes.

There are mature trees throughout the subdivision. Some residents are enthusiastic gardeners. A summer stroll through the neighborhood is filled with blooms.

The neighborhood backs up to wetlands with a small lake. There's wildlife of all kinds: deer, raccoons, turtles, wild turkeys, and even the occasional fox.
